In the winter of 2004, I was walking down 31st St in the Bridgeport neighborhood of Chicago when I noticed a FOR LEASE sign in the window of this beautiful, old, corner storefront. I thought, "what a great spot for a coffee shop." My best friends Tom and Ed agreed. Over the next few months we converted this amazing space into the BRIDGEPORT COFFEE HOUSE. |

Our neighborhood is a little off the beaten path, yet we are often asked what will we do when the coffee house chains arrive.
| |
Our response is part of our mission statement. We will strive to be more than merchants, rather part of the community and the history of our surroundings.
We have jazz on Sunday's, kid's play group on Wednesday's, bake sales, featured local artists, PTA meetings, and we even had a silent movie show. |
